Our new table!

When we first moved to our house, Ski was all excited because he had a work bench in the garage. He had big plans to build us a kitchen table that all of us could sit around comfortably - especially now that our family is getting bigger! Well for the last year and a half he has been in the "planning" stage as he likes to call it - which means he really had no clue what he needed to do. Well since his dad Pork is a carpenter and builds houses for a living we decided that when he and Kathy came down for Bryan's boot camp graduation, they could build our table together! In one afternoon it went from "planning stage" to a beautiful table!!

Are you noticing a theme with this project - Pork seems to be doing an awful lot of the work...

This was the first time it was being turned over to be inspected!

The three of them staining and varnishing it.

They even signed the bottom: Pork - Foreman, Ski - the designer, and Bryan - the muscle! They do good work together!

The finished product finally in the kitchen! I won't even have to worry about Jacqui and Matt sitting so close and fighting anymore. In fact we've decided that the boys will sit on one side and the girls will sit on the other. I suppose we'll have to stop them from kicking each other though.

Thanks Pork (and Bryan) We would have never gotten this done without you!!!! We love the table - it's beautiful! Now we just need to get chairs that don't look so ghetto! One "planning stage" at a time I guess!!!

It looks great!! Don't worry about the chairs.. I am sure you will get new ones soon enough! You probably weren't ready for the table to be finished.

How awesome is that! I would say that I'm impressed that Phil could do such a nice job but like you said, there was quite the trend in the pictures with Pork doing all the work :)
